Classrooms are unique places where we learn new things and make friends. We have desks in each classroom to sit on, to read books, and a teacher that helps us become better and more intelligent. The door that we walk through every day is a very important part of the classroom. That sounds like a simple door, but really it is vital for many reasons! Why is the school classroom door so unique, teaching us in the way it does?
The door also provides students with safety and security while we are learning. It helps drown out the noise and distractions of the hallway when the door is closed. Then, we are not distracted by what is happening outside and can pay attention to what our teacher is saying. We need to listen and learn without being interrupted. As well, having a door prevents those who should not be coming into our classroom, like the loud neighbourhood kids who want to interrupt me when I am teaching, from entering and helps to ensure we have a conducive learning environment.
I love how the classroom door can be creative and fun, another advantage! Especially, teachers who love decorating their doors with fun themes about the lessons or season. So if we're learning about outer space, the door may be covered with stars and planets. The door may be dressed in bright leaves during autumn. The door can also bring new ideas and new feelings, excitement and this is what we all want.
Some teachers even allowed their students to decorate the door! This is a great way for students to express their creativity and take pride in their classroom. We can showcase our talent at decorating when we collaborate and uniquely style the classroom even better. It also allows us to practice teamwork and problem-solving skills, as we need to agree on ideas and collaborate to make the door look good.

Everyday, the classroom door plays a key component for both teachers and students. It’s a method for teachers to communicate valuable information to us. One example she mentions is to use a bulletin board or whiteboard on the door to show the daily schedule, homework, or notes for upcoming events. It helps us be organized and know what we can expect for the day.

Another way is using the door to celebrate student accomplishments. For instance, if a student performs particularly well on a project or assignment, the teacher may post a photo or certificate on the door. It shows appreciation towards us and can help boost up our self-esteem and motivate other students to study harder, and give their best. When we see our peers being celebrated, it encourages us to give our best as well.

Keeping students safe is another important consideration. Secure Setting: When we feel safe in our environment then we can concentrate and learn better. See the door that enables us to feel safe while we explore new ideas and work on projects. This means that we get to learn in a fun interactive way that helps us retain the material, & encourages creativity and innovation.
